Great product
The AA battery is much longer life to use than any other AA battery we used before. I took over 300 pictures and couple short (2 min) videos and flash used with just couple batteries. It's really amazing. And the price is very good. You will save a lot.

Light and energetic
These lithiun cells are just the thing for electronics when you go into the backcountry. At 1/2 the weight and many times the lifespan of alkaline batteries, these are what I always use for long trips.

Last A Long Time
These are not cheap. Especially when compared with the lifetime cost of rechargeable batteries. But these last much much longer. Good when the temperature is low too.

Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition

Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition

I just got this remote yesterday and am very glad I made the purchase! The remote itself is well built and very similar to our DirecTV remotes. Ergonomically it fits well in the hand and is very easy to use. Also, it is very easy to set up, all I did was plug in the IR adapter into a USB port, put in the batteries (2 AAA that came with the remote) and you're in business. I use Windows 7 and it took less than 30 seconds to find and install the drivers (probably closer to about 10 seconds).

I am disabled and this makes it so much easier to access my computer from my bed. Much more convenient and less bulky compared to using a wireless keyboard and mouse too. Because I spend so much time in bed, I listen to music a lot and this makes it so easy to adjust the volume and skip tracks. The built in mouse features works awesome for when I am listening to songs from Napster or other programs other than Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player.

MY room is 15'x20' not including the attached master Bath and I have no range issues anywhere in the room or even in the bathroom with the door open.

One of the main reasons I got this remote was for the built in Mouse function. Other than basic movements, there are buttons for right clicking and left clicking. It took my wife and me about a minute to get used to the mouse movement; starting slow, than speeding up.

All in all, a good remote with some very handy features and for a price under , it's a great deal and I very much recommend it if you're looking for a basic remote and a cheaper substitute to a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Great remote for the price
Nice little remote. It has a little mouse pad...how cool is that. It's got everything a couch potato needs... hahaha. Highly recommended.

Works great!!
works great in windows media center. i am going to buy another one to have on hand.

Window Media Center Remote work on Windows 7
I was really excited when the remote arrived at our postbox. I was anxious to see if it would work with Windows 7, and it did. It is a nice remote with small, but easy buttons to directly go to the main sections of Windows Media Center. My only gripe is the mouse scroll er which is a round pad located in the middle of the remote. It is slow and their is a bit of lag time between your mouse movement and the cursor on the screen. Overall this is a functional remote.

A remote control for all my media players!
This remote control rocks! Besides using it with my Windows 7 Media Center, I can use some of its functions for all other media players (e.g. kmplayer, etc.), I would say this is a must for anyone who has PC hooked up with HDTV.

Noah Company MediaGate GP-IR02BK Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate MCE Remote Control, 2 Channel IR (Black)

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I bought this knowing I wouldn't ever use the remote. I'm glad too because the first time I fired up the remote, I hit the Microsoft button and my Xbox came on. I didn't want that to happen haha.

Anyway, I bought this for the IR receiver. I have a Logitech Harmony 880 Remote Control - Refurbished and I wanted to be able to control XBMC on my Windows 7 based Home Theater PC. I plugged this in and added the device on the Harmony software as a generic "Media Center PC" and started mapping my keys.

The receiver has been great. I can't comment on the remote because I don't use it at all... But the receiver has a nice range to it. I hate how the Xbox 360 needs you to be pointed almost directly at it. This one doesn't have that problem... I don't have to worry about dead on remote pointing so much.

So yea, I give it 5 stars because I don't have to deal with the remote at all and I didn't purchase it. I suggest EVERYONE buy a Harmony remote instead of buying separate remotes over and over. It will be your best purchase.

Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone

Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone

These earphones are absolutely top notch if you're big on sound. The bass is distinctive and unmuddled, the treble is clear and detailed. They sound fantastic for all sorts of music, from classical to death metal, and have a very well-balanced sound compared to most other earphones I've tried. It does take a few days for these to break in--when I first got these, I wasn't sure there was any audible difference between these and my old workhorse Sennheiser CX300s. Now I cringe whenever I have to go back to the Senns. The cable loops over the ears from the front, which, while initially awkward, helps reduce the cable noise that's inherent to all in-ears.

The only real downside to these phones is the potentially fragile design. The cable is very thin and the segment directly connecting to the buds are reinforced underneath with some semi-flexible metal that you can bend to contour to your ears as they loop over them. I can definitely see how someone can easily damage this part. I myself haven't had any issues yet, but I'm fairly careful with my phones and never take them out the case (which is great by the way) unless I'm using them, and I never use them when I'm doing anything that requires a lot of physical movement. These are definitely not earphones you want accidentally yanked out of your ears when something snags the cable.

Bottom line is, if you love great sound, if you're careful with your expensive electronics, and if you have a backup pair of phones you can put on when you're jogging or or mowing the lawn or whatever, these earphones are for you.

Great earphones, with a catch
It's a 0 earphone so realistically if you were expecting something at this price range to not sound good, you'd be nuts. As pointed out by numerous audiophile websites these earphones are pretty fantastic. I don't know (or sometimes even understand) the lingo, language, and anything associated with audiophile speak but its worth pointing out something that's also pretty well known - the cables suck.

The cables suck but due to Logitech's speedy customer service, I'll give it a 5 (returned earphones with cable, shipped a brand new one - received within a week).

Unfortunately, recabling these VIs are pretty hard since most alternative cables don't actually come with the microphone. If I didn't want the mic, I wouldn't have bought this version.

5 Star
Item stolen from my doorstep. Amazon sent replacement item next day. WOW! Possible problem with product, possible wire shorting out. Don't know what to do for service.

Prefer over Shure SE530PTH after 6 months of use
I listen to a fair amount of classical music and value tonal fidelity, transient response, and tranparency. Although I generally prefer circumaural headphones, for travel and use with an iPod, I started with Shure SE3c's and moved up to the Shure SE530PTH Shure SE530PTH Sound Isolating Earphones with Push-To-Hear Control because of their superior (yet still tight) bass response and triple driver construction, which yielded better overall sound to my ears. The Shures were my IEM's of choice until Amazon ran a special on the UE TripleFi10 that I just couldn't pass up. I've had them for six months now and can safely say that they are now my IEM's of choice, both edging the Shures in sound quality and leaprfrogging them in terms of fit and comfort for long-term listening. Even with the optional sleeves, I couldn't get the Shures to remain snugly fit in my canals; the UE's stay in comfortably for the duration of a cross-country airplane flight and provide superior sound isolation for my ear canal anatomy. The UE sound is open, transparent, natural, and free of edginess. Even at an equivalent price, the UE TripleFi10's would be my transducer of choice; the fact that the economics are significantly in favor of the UE's is simply icing.

these things ROCK!
I love these earphones. I am impressed with the clarity and quality of the sound. I often steal away time and go listen to some of my favorite songs to hear them as they were meant to be heard!

I did have a problem with the contruction of the base and it broke. Logitech replace them and the turnaround time was less than 5 days. No questions asked! I still aspire to a pair of shure SCL5's but the price was right for these and I don't think I am missing too much based on the reviews I've seen.

Would I buy these again... you bet!

Ultimate iPhone 3G & 3Gs Fm Transmitter with LCD Display with preset memory

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Soundfly-i Ultimate iPod / iPhone 3G, 3Gs Auto-scan Fm Transmitter Charger with RDS & Remote Control

I received this unit yesterday and it is being used with an iPhone 3GS in a 2001 Mercedes CLK 320 convertible, with no AUX input, hence the need for the FM transmitter. The unit worked well right out of the package. Despite what some other reviewers have written, the unit (and my car radio) could both be tuned to 87.9 MHz, and that's where I've been using it. It is important for all users to realize that the sound quality is going to be somewhat degraded because digital audio quality is lost since the music is getting to the radio via the FM transmitter, so the frequency range is standard FM quality (20-20KHz). Music sounds like it's coming from a radio station, and not a CD player. So it's good, but not crisp and sharp like from a CD or MP3 player.

I have not played with all of the functions of the remote, and the range seems to be only a few inches. I will replace the battery in the remote to see if that helps; I haven't drilled into the user manual, but will do that over the weekend.

One negative, and this seems to come either from default settings or from the fact that I am not doing something right, but once you plug your iPhone into the dock, it automatically starts playing the first song in your stored songs listed in alphabetical order. So, I've been hearing a lot more of Elvis Costello ("Accidents Will Happen") than I'd like, as I have to fumble to get my songs where I want them to start. There is a bit of fumbling with the phone once it's plugged in to get to the track wanted, as it seems harder to get to album or song settings, but these are minor nits, and again, I haven't mastered this to the fullest.

Final verdict: this is the second FM transmitter device that I've purchased (the first, a Belkin unit, was crap and went back the next day) and I am quite happy with it. There are many FM stations on air here in the Bay Area, and it seems to hold its own set at 87.9. Additionally, there seems to be a filter in place that limits the hiss of the radio at this frequency, which makes the music a bit more clear. I am happy with it, and feel that for the unit with remote plus shipping is a very fair value for the money.

Great customer service and great device.
I received a Satechi FM transmitter for Christmas that promised (per Amazon description) to be able to plug my iPod's USB connection to it and broadcast to my car radio. After speaking with customer service, I learned that the model I had did not support USB interaction with the iPod - I had to use the regular audio channel to broadcast, or use a flash drive with MP3s.

Disappointed, I wrote to customer service saying that I had only purchased that particular model for the iPod USB connection it clearly advertised on Amazon. They wrote me back saying they were working on a new transmitter model (Soundfly-i Ultimate) and that when it was completed, they would mail it to me, free of charge.

I was delighted by the service! 5 months later, the new Satechi Soundfly Ultimate iPod transmitter was launched and that I received the device as promised, free of charge.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. The product works great, the quality of sound can be a little iffy due to the radio broadcast, but it charges my iPod and has functionality to skip and select songs.

Improvements to this device could be better interface design, easy-to-use FM channel selection, and better iPod control integration.

Otherwise, this is a quality device that sits on your car lighter, connects to your iPod via USB, charges it, and broadcasts your songs to a radio channel you select.

Worth the money AM/FM Transmitter
I brought this AM/FM Transmitter about a month ago and I really enjoy it. I drive about 40 miles a day and the drive can become boring listening to the same songs on the radio. So I had 2 choices, buy a XM/Serrius radio and pay costly monthly charges or use my Iphone. I choice the Iphone route. I live in NJ and sometimes on the road to Newark or in my town, I can heard some background noise, but not enough to bother my listening. I do recommend to get a holder, which I will be purchasing soon. Having it laying on the seat next to me, it sometimes will disconnect. But for the cost ( Under 40 bucks ) and the ease to use and all the pre-programmable stations, It's a great buy.

awesome little device
Of course I had to try this at home first, and the antenna or reception on my home stereo must be pretty bad, because I had to keep my I-Touch almost on top of the stereo cabinet, but within range it worked great. But in the car it worked great right off the getgo. Tried it in two vehicles with the same results. I don't have a lot of unused frequency in the area I live in so it's difficult to keep from interference with stronger signals, but I usually only use it for longer drives anyway. Also love the fact that it charges also, using the same mini-usb connection as my cell phone.
Oh yeah, I do have to take it out of the case for a positive connection but not a big problem with the case I use.
Overall, love it and fully recommend this one.

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 Noise Isolating Earphones

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

I bought this earphones couple weeks ago and now I have enough experience with it to write a review about it.

First of all, it looks really elegant. The design is so nice that you just want to have it in your hands and look at it:) But for sure, design is not the first thing you would expect from an earphone right? Then keep reading.

The second thing I will mention is the sound quality. The sound you get from the earphone is really loud. Plus it is really crystal clear and I am pretty satisfied by the sound quality it provides. I think, the basses and the trebles are quite balanced. I didn't get more bass than treble nor the opposite. To compare, I can easily say that this earphone's sound quality is much better than the sennheiser cx500 I have.

Furthermore, the ear buds totally fit my ear canal. Before I bought the item, I read a couple negative comments about this ear buds, saying that they are too big and uncomfortable. But I have been using it for weeks and I am really happy with the comfort of the buds. It totally fills your ear canal, and -this part is important- provides an amazing sound isolation. You just can not hear whats going on around you, even if you don't play music but just have the earphone in your ears, you can't hear the noise of the subway. And with the music playing, it is like you are in the space, listening to music. So to sum, ear buds fit perfectly to the ear canal and provides amazing sound isolation.

One last thing which I'll mention is, the quality of the cable. Again, before I bought the item I read a couple negative comments about the cable, saying that it is too solid and hard and it feels low quality. But what I saw is, the cable's quality is really high. Yes it is not soft like the other earphones' cables, it is pretty hard. But it just feels it is stronger, and it will last more.

Beside all these stuff, I have only one negative comment about the product, which is about the carrying case. I think it could be much better than a plastic box which you just try to fit your earphones in. Also the cap of the box seems like it will be broken soon. It is sticked to the box and totally it has a short life before it gets broken.

Great earphones
This are the best earphones I have used. The sound is clear, and they fit comfortably. I would highly recommend them.

Not Bad At All
Overall, the earphones were pretty good in terms of sound quality: The sound was clear and covered all the pitch ranges, from low, to medium to high. Nevertheless, if you are a fan of bass sound, then you should look somewhere else. The UEs have good bass but they don't have that extra "oomph" that you're looking for. About comfort, the earbuds were a little too big. It's not that big of a deal but when you compare them to Sennheiser CX-400ii, you do see a difference. However, if your budget is limited, I recommend those earphones.

Best Earbuds Evah
I've owned a few Sony pair, but this one beats them all! Great fit, great sound blocking, and I love the extra-long cord, giving me more mobility when I attach to my laptop. Great buy, great product.

Monster M1000 HD-8 Ultimate High-Speed HDTV HDMI Cable (8 feet)

Friday, November 6th, 2009

This review is for the 8 foot cable

I agree with most of the reviewers point of only a dumba$$ would pay obscene amounts of money for a HDMI cable that really doesn't make a lot of difference, that being said this is a great cable that does make some difference and if found at the right price is a must buy. I personally bought mine brand new from a seller in the Amazon marketplace for .90, how they afforded to sell it for that I do not know. It was labeled Refurbished and truthfully it may have been but when it arrived it was unopened in the original factory box and when I replaced the original cable I'd been given by Direct TV I noticed a difference immediately. Now I'm not sure what the grade or level of the cable direct TV gives out with there extreamly expensive HD DVR's is, but this cable definitely made a difference. I wouldn't recommend paying the 0 Amazon says the stores sell it for and I would recommend paying the 2.74 Amazon has it on sale for either, but the low low price of 19.90 I payed for mine I definitely recommend if you can fined it for that you buy. I gave this a 4 star rating due to the high price most places try to sell this for, it's not easy finding a Monster cable of this quality for cheap, It gave the Quality of the cable 5 stars but the price and value for your money both 3 due to the high price I've seen attached to this cable.

Altec Lansing UHP326 Backbeat Series In Ear Headphone with Ultimate Ears technology

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Altec Lansing UHP326 BackBeat Titanium noise-isolating earphones

For the price, the sound is phenomenal. Good base, clear mids and highs. What more do you want? Some reviews have complained about the cloth cords causing excess noise, but I haven't found this to be a problem. It's the nature of earbuds that they amplify any noise caused by rubbing the wires, and in my experience there's no more noise from these cloth covered wires than from plastic wires. The added bonus is that the these cloth wires don't get tangled up in knots. I can't comment on the durability, but they seem pretty well made to me. Then again, they're earbuds, so they're going to be subjected to squishing, pulling, yanking, etc., on a regular basis. For the price, they can't be beat. Personally, I just can't see spending any more money on earbuds to listen to music coming out of an iPod. I know there are "audiophile quality earbuds" out there, but c'mon, "audiophile earbuds" is an oxymoron, because all you're listening to is MP3 quality sound in the first place. Save your money, and buy some real headphones and a real stereo if you care that much about your music. But for portability and casual listening on an iPod, these do the job exceptionally well.

Greatest sound quality, worst longevity
I want to start by making sure that I state clearly that the sound quality of these ear buds is the greatest I have ever heard in this price range. Absolutely fantastic. What is unfortunate about these ear buds however is that the cord creates much noise from bouncing around, hitting things, etc. The solution that I found for this problem was to loop the cord up over my ears. The biggest gripe I have with these ear buds though is that my pair only lasted 7 months before the right channel became really "tinny", almost like there was a little piece of metal buzzing over the speaker. I would normally assume that I just got a 'lemon', but my friend purchased an identical pair as I did and his only lasted 4 months before the right channel completely died. It is too bad, because the sound quality really is superb.

Backbeat Titaium Ear Buds
These are spectacular, lots of ear pieces to find the right fit, stay put even when running on a treadmill. Excellent noise reduction, fit and seem to be really durable. The cords have a cloth like cover so they don't tangle like the ear buds that come with the I Touch.
