My monitor has a VGA and DVI connector capability, a VGA cable is what was supplied with the monitor, the computer has VGA and HDMI connectors. While the monitor has no speakers the DVI to HDMI connection certainly appears to provide a sharper brighter picture. Imagination or just a desire for not having wasted 21 bucks, who knows? Would I do it again, yes and recommend the analog to digital swap looking for an improved display.

Belkin is an excellent maker of this AV cords
Although I love to read reviews I hate to write them. Belkin makes good AV cords, edn of story. If you don't believe me than spend your money on one of the other makers and suffer the consequence. Your not wasting my money.

Works great for HDMI Tivo to DVI Sony TV
One thing I wasn't sure of from the description and the other reviews is if this is a HDMI-to-DVI device, DVI-to-HDMI or both. Well I can state from first hand experience it works great from HDMI our our Tivo to the DVI input on our Sony TV. We were running low on component inputs on the TV, but it had a DVI input we had never used. Since the Tivo had HDMI output I thought I'd give this cable a chance and it works great.
It works perfectly!
I connected my Macbook Pro to the TV to watch online shoes and movies on my TV flat screen and it works great. The quality is really good.
