Careful! Are you sure you want this?
This is exactly what it says it is and it performs correctly. But it isn't what I thought it was when I ordered it, which is the large Black ink tank needed for printing page after page of text. This is the little tank used for enhancing the black level on photos. How could I have made such a mistake? Well, this is the CLI-221 Ink Tank and I needed the PGI-220 Ink Tank. My bad.

Logitech Cordless Desktop Comfort Laser (Black)

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I am a big fan of Logitech, and this product is one of the reasons. I replaced a Microsoft Ergo 4000 keyboard and a Logitech MX620 mouse, and the new products are superior.

The Microsoft keyboard is quite good, but after several years of use, it had started to get flaky. The Logitech keyboard has a better feel, and it is quieter. In addition, the build quality seems better to me (time will tell), and the wrist rest has a very nice feel. I especially appreciate the fact that the "Window" key (which I use as the "Command" key on my Mac) is indented. This makes it much easier to find.

In addition, I prefer the MX600 mouse to the MX620. Ergonomically, they are equivalent, and the tracking in both cases is flawless. (I should mention that I have a flat black mouse pad, which is a very difficult tracking surface.) The scroll wheel on the MX620 was a good idea, but it doesn't work very well in practice. After using the MX620 for about a year, I prefer the more conventional scroll wheel of the MX600. The MX600 is also a bit lighter. I have used quite a few mice over the years, and this is probably the best one I have every owned.

Another nice touch is the USB dongle. It includes LEDs for the Scroll and Num lock status, which is generally absent from wireless keyboards.

There are a couple of negatives that I must mention. First, I don't like how Logitech rearranged the six keys above the arrow keys. I have been using keyboards with the "standard" layout (i.e., two rows of three keys) for many years, and my fingers are used to it. Second, I use a Mac, and while Logitech's "Control Center" software recognizes the MX600 mouse, there is no driver for the keyboard. Despite this, some of the "extra" keys are regognized by Mac OS X (I am running 10.6): the volume keys work, the play/pause key works with iTunes (but only iTunes), and the sleep key works as well. Still, I would like to see Logitech get its act together and provide full Mac support for this keyboard.

These negatives, which are fairly minor in my view, are the only reason I did not give this product five stars. Overall, I am very satisfied, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend.

Sabrent ECS-U35K Ultra Slim USB 2.0 3.5-inch IDE/PATA Hard Drive Enclosure (Black)

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Sabrent ECS-U35K Ultra Slim USB 2.0 3.5-inch IDE/PATA Hard Drive Enclosure (Black)

Ok, just to make this simple, different Hard Drives have different settings for Master with Slave, Or Master as Single Drive. Indeed, on some drives this can mean that you can just remove the shunt, or put it in a 'storage' position on the pins on the back of the drive. NOW!!! EVERY drive I have, Maxtor, Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital & Samsung, they ALL have the cable settings printed on the drive somewhere. If you look at that, you will see if you need to remove the shunt entrirely for Master SINGLE DRIVE, or Single Drive with NO SLAVE. Some of them will have you still use the shunt to get the Master Single drive setting, some not. Just look over your hard drive really well, the information is there. ALSO!!! You can go to any Hard Drive Mfg's Web Site & find the different jumper settings in picture form. VERY EASY to follow the pictures. Look for Master Single Drive First, the just plain Master setting if you do not find that one.

I hope this will be of help to someone,

Great bang for the buck
Got my Sabrent ECS-U35K yesterday and proceeded to install a 10-yr old 20GB IDE hard drive with caution based on prior reviews noting various quality and performance issues. I was pleasantly surprised to find no such problems, either due to dumb luck or possibly a design change. Installing the HD and securing the cover with 2 screws on front panel was very intuitive, simple, and quick (5 minutes or less). Jumper pins were set for "Master" as noted on the scant instruction sheet, and it worked as advertised. Next I swapped the drive with a slightly newer, but still old, 120GB drive and had the same good fortune. Granted, it's not a rugged device, but it's built better than I'd expect for a enclosure, and it did exceed my expectations, so I give it a 5-star rating.

Good product
Item is as described. Installation was a breeze and I was able to get everything off of the hard drive of my dead PC. Now I have an extra external HD as well!

Bellagio-Italia CD/DVD Storage Binder (Black)

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Our family has a number of these now. They've been fantastic for clearing up the shelf space in our entertainment center. They also look much better compared to the mess of DVD cases we had. You can store the DVD insert/menu pages in them, but we figure we've never really used the menu pages, so why bother and take up the extra space.

If you have a bunch of these, it's handy to organize the discs you put in them in some way and then label the outside paper insert label. Otherwise, you're pulling out each binder trying to find where that movie is you want to watch. We've organized ours into kids movies, Disney, adventure, comedy, home movies, etc. and that's been helpful for us unless we put one in the wrong binder by accident.

The storage pages have a lip at the top to keep the DVDs from falling out if the binder is turned upside down. We usually don't put the lip over the disc, but we have accidentally turned the binder upside down, and some of the DVDs fell out, so be careful if the kids are putting the binders away.

With additional insert pages, each storage binder is expandable, and can even store cd or dvd booklets with ease.

PDVK-10 7-Inch 10-Inch In Car Portable DVD Player Case (Black)

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

I know someone who has the WDEC-10 also from CaseLogic so I bought the PDVK-10 instead. The main differences are:
No headphone splitter in the PDVK-10
Two mounting positions for the PDVK-10 vs one
Different top strap and mounting

It was disappointing when I found out the PDVK-10 doesn't have the headphone wire/splitter that comes built-in with the PDVK-9 and WDEC-10. This is a very useful feature and helps when connecting/disconnecting it from the car. Too bad they decided to take it out.

The PDVK-10 has two mounting positions - vertical and L-shape. The WDEC-10 only has the L-shape. In order to use the vertical mounting position, the DVD player or netbook must be able to fold flat otherwise the angle of the screen might point down. I like the vertical position better because the screen is higher and you can adjust the angle of your player. The case comes with a skinny black strap that goes through either the top or bottom set of holes to secure the player/netbook. In the L-shape position, the strap may block part of the screen depending on how low the screen is near the hinge. The problem is if you move the strap lower, the whole player/netbook flops down because the top of screen is not supported. I think the case should come with 2 of these straps and ideally should be clear. I was thinking of using some string or fishing line to secure my netbook in the L-shaped position but I rather use my DVD player in the vertical position instead. The screen angle of the player in L-shaped position is not really adjustable but I thought of wedging a piece of foam between the back of the case and the back of the seats if necessary. There are two compartments in the case and you can actually put the player in the back compartment for vertical mounting if you don't mind taking it out to change the DVD and the controls being blocked.

The WDEC-10 uses 4 straps that hook to 4 rings on the case. The hooks on either side of the straps are plastic that you pinch to open. The PDVK-10 has one long strap for the top and two for the bottom. The top strap is designed to go over each of two headrests like a lasso and then tightened. The strap goes through a flap inside the case that uses velcro to make a long loop. I worry about the strength of the velcro but it does have a lot of surface area and you shouldn't have to undo the velcro once you have it set. When you dismount the case, you loosen the strap on both sides, take it over the headrests and stuff the strap into the case. I like this design over the WDEC-10. The bottom two straps are similar to the WDEC-10. Depending on your car, it can be hard to find a place to hook them. I have no desire to mount the case behind one seat but it should be possible.

This case is not perfect for a cheap solution but if you want perfect you can't be cheap.

Perfect for my player!
I was surprised and very pleased when I received the case. I did not expect it to be made so well; for the price, it is an exceptional product. Although I have not used it in my car, it is perfect for my DVD player (Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black). I can put all my accessories in the pouch which is inside and behind the player compartment, the adjustable strap to hold the player keeps it in place and is easily removed, the case adequately protects the player if it falls over or is dropped a short distance (my dog knocked it off of my couch!), and it is small enough to store just about anywhere!

Pretty good Bag
I've got a 10" Toshiba player and it's a tight fit in this case, but it does fit. It's hard to get to the volume and on/off on the sides of the unit, so I guess they should think of easier side access some how, but over all it's a pretty good case. We set it up hanging from the back of a seat instead of strung between two seats like in the picture and instructions. That works pretty well, though I don't think it was designed for it.

Nice thick case should protect the player pretty well. Looks kind of high end/stylish. I don't think you'd guess it's a portable DVD case if you saw it zipped up.

It's got a neat audio port splitter jack that comes out through the bottom (if hanging) of the case. You plug the attached plug into the player and it splits it outside the case for two head phones. (if you need that) We aren't using head phones yet and only have one kid, but may one day we may have her wear headphones.

very nice case for the $
i have been very happy with the portable dvd player case...everything about it is very functional and it has plenty of room to hold the player and all of the cords that come with it. it doesn't really have additional room to hold any dvds but thats okay since we just bring them in a small cd/dvd case. we set it up to go inbetween our seats (we have a honda accord)and it has worked very well for that and its very easy to put up and take down. i have been very happy with this purchase.

Portable DVD Case
Excellent product. It's a very good case to store your dvd player and to use as a viewing platform!

Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera (Black) NEWEST MODEL

Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera (Black) NEWEST MODEL

I've been waiting for this to be released for several months, and was surprised when I got the notice that the ship date was moved up by a month. I've had this camera only for around 12 hours but have spent a few hours with it so far, and it was definitely worth waiting for. I considered the Flip Mino but decided to wait for this to come out because of the ability to use SD cards and also to remove and change the battery somewhat inexpensively.
I'm really glad I waited, and here's why.

* Picture quality is fantastic. I've uploaded some things to Youtube, and the picture was crystal clear.
* Sound - The mic picked up a nice variety of sounds from office sounds (people typing, etc) to a loud surprise party with clarity.
* Size - It's really small. It's wide and flat. Fits in my jeans pocket and in my shirt pocket as well.
* Battery - I'm waiting to see how long it lasts, but it charged in around an hour and 45 minutes when plugged in to the wall.
* Software - I'm pretty impressed. It's simple but it does pretty much what I'll need it to do. I spent around 30 minutes messing around with it. The video uploaded quickly. It allowed for basic editing, color correction and enhancement, etc. It allows direct upload to Facebook,Youtube,Twitter, and Vimeo.
* Build Quality - It's sturdy. Not heavy but definitely "solid". I like the rubberized surface, I can imagine it will be easier to hold when it's wet. I'm very excited to be able to film my daughter swimming from inside the pool!

We own a traditional video camera but it's rarely used because it's big and bulky, the battery life stinks, and making it work with the computer is almost impossible. The Kodak is a natural companion for the diaper bag and I look forward to recording many future memories with it.

The closest to a negative may just be due to the format itself. I used the Kodak software and burned a standard def dvd from a 1080p source and the video looked awful. Very "blocky". I assumed it would at least be "dvd quality" but it's barely VHS. Of course, I could just be doing something wrong. If I figure it out, I'll revise this review!

Other than that issue, I love this thing! The other camera is going to be sold soon, this is all we need!

Awesome to say the least!!!
Just opened the camera from the box. Easy to use buttons, just charge the battery and you are good. I put in an 8gb card and it will record 2.5 hrs of 720p quality video or 1.5 hrs of 1080p. Has increased saturation setting as well as B&W. Image quilt was excellent with the 5mp camera built in. Picture printed as well as a 12meg pixel camera on a 4x6 and even 5x7. Waterproof is the key reason I purchased this camera and it did not let me down. Buy yours now because I think these are going to sell fast and be sold out everywhere soon.

White balance and low light :(
Well I thought this camcorder would be just like Zi8 with improved features. But after trying it with some indoor and outdoor test shots it becomes apparent that the white balance is way off. White walls look blue-ish and there's no way to adjust it. If I turn H2O mode on it becomes too red. Just take a look at this comparison video and you'll know what I'm talking about. (see first link in the comment)

It would be better if the software that came with it has color temperature adjustment feature, but sadly it's not included. Hope a firmware upgrade comes out soon to fix the issue.

Low light videos are a lot grainier than I had expected. I'm starting to wonder if my Playsport really is the one used for these awesome videos: (see second link in the comment)

Other than these two disappointments, the camera seems pretty solid and impressive.

Best Water Proof HD Video and Still Camera.
I am a Canon diehard fan. But Canon does not have anything that compares to Kodak Playsport HD waterproof pocket video camera. At 1080P the video recording is acceptable. But, at 720p and 60 frames per second this camera rocks, the results are great. I have used it around and in water, the blue filter helps under water. I am planning to use this for our Disney World vacation this year in the Water Parks.

This camera takes 5MP HD Stills, so now I have a camera that can take video and stills on demand wet or dry. I have other camera's in the same category like Flip and Samsung both do not compare, even at 720p 60 frames per second. 0.00 pricetag is also very affordable.

Easy to carry, very user friendly to move files from the camera to the computer or directly to Youtube. Nightvision would be nice but most of my recordings will be in Daylight. Bottom line great camera and I have no cons to talk about.

Toshiba 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Dive HDDR500E04XK (Black)

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Toshiba 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Dive HDDR500E04XK (Black)

I just received my Liquid Blue Toshiba 500 GB HD. Tech support was very helpful in helping me reformat the drive to NTFS (it comes formatted with FAT32). My 1st backup with FAT32 took 4 1/2 hours to backup just over 26 gbytes for an approximate average speed of 1.6 mbytes/sec. After the reformat, it did the same backup at about 5.8 mbytes/sec. A big improvement, but essentially the same as my 4-year old Seagate 40 GB drive it is replacing. I would have thought hard drive write speeds would have increased more in that time, but it seems the emphasis has been driving down costs and increasing storage capacity. Fair enough. The short USB 2.0 cable could also be a bit longer, guys.

The drive works fine and for someone doing periodic backups during the day or overnight where time is not of the essence, I suspect the speed will be sufficient. I note that the backup speeds were all over the lot: at times, it dropped to 0.3 mbytes/sec and other times ramped up to 20 mbytes/sec. Most of the time it spent in the 4-7 mbyte/sec range. If Toshiba can figure out a way to maintain the speed in the 10-12 mbyte/sec area, this would be one kick-ass backup. FWIW, I am running a 2004 Pentium 4 with a 3 ghtz CPU and 1 gbyte of RAM so newer machines may run this drive faster. The user manual is among the worst I've seen -- it basically isn't even a user manual, just some product descriptions and terminology definitions. A few paragraphs on how the Toshiba drive can be used most efficiently would have been appreciated along with tech specifications so you can research how your specific hardware and software can work best with the drive.

The 3-year warranty is a great feature for folks who backup daily or very frequntly. These drives seem to fail for people doing heavy backups on a daily or near-daily basis. If you are like me and don't have essential add-ons to your PC except every few weeks, then less frequent backing up will probably extend whatever lifespan this drive (and others) have.

All-in-all, a quality backup with plenty of storage space in an aesthetically pleasing case style.

Pretty Good!
I've had this hard drive for a couple months now and I love it. I bought it when my internal hard drive in my desktop started to go out. It was meant to be a backup of all my docs and music, but now I just use it as a full time hard drive. Its quick simple. I've had no problems. The only thing was when I first connected it to my computer, I had a USB hub that was connected to the back of my tower. I connected it to the hub and I kept getting an error on my computer. All I had to do was connect it directly to the tower. Turns out since its USB powered, the hub doesn't provide enough power to run the HDD. But no worries. Its still a great device. Price was very good for 500gb. Its small and easy to take with me when I go somewhere with my laptop. Definitely recommend!

Good value for a good price.
A snap to install. Light weight and easily portable. Price was good and delivery quick.

Toshiba Portable Hard Drive is great.
I am relatively technology challenged, so this self-contained portable hard drive is perfect for me. Just plugged it in and it does all the rest.

Toshiba 640 GB USB 2.0 Portable HD
I LOVE this little external hard drive! It's low-profile, small and light, and has little rubber feet to keep it in place. It has a nice mini-USB cord that's only about 6", which is perfect for toting around w/o a lot of extra bulk and weight. Buy the suggested Case Logic case for it and you can take it everywhere, all the time. Very happy with my purchases.

Value Pack (2 Black)

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

My wife has the Samsung printer that uses these refills. They are not readily available in most office supply stores, and if they are, about more PER CARTRIDGE. The best deal by far is on Amazon and if you buy the 2 pack, you save a couple of bucks over a single purchase. These last approximately 1700 pages, your mileage may vary. Personally, I use the Brother HL-4070 CDW color laser, and much prefer it to her Samsung. For one thing, on the Brother toner cartridges, even when the machine thinks you're out of toner, you can remove the cartridge, reset the page counter, and tape a piece of black tape over the sensor eye and get another 500 pages out of the "empty" cartridge. The other advantage of the Brother toner is that you can buy the High Capacity cartridges whereas the Samsung only come standard capacity.
Either Samsung or Brother, I always buy my cartridges from Amazon for the best price and fast delivery.

Case Logic PLS-9 Ultraportable Netbook Sleeve for 7-Inch to 10-Inch Netbooks (Black)

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Excellent case for 10.1 netbooks IF you are going to tote the computer around in another bag. I don't really care for most computer bags, and instead carry my netbook around in a Brooklyn Industries small messenger bag. I want to protect my netbook at the same time. This case logic sleeve is perfect. It is soft. The inside material is ultra-soft and will not scratch. My Asus 10.1 in netbook fits snugly. The sleeve with netbook fit perfectly in my small messenger bag. It's like a turducken.

Customer Reviews

Works great with Acer AO532H
Fits nicely. Like the separate pocket for the power cord. The slot for a USB thumb drive is a nice touch. The neoprene material is a great idea. All net/notebook sleeves should be made from it.

All in all, a nice product and I have no complaints. It does what it's supposed to do, protect my netbook.

Good material, good padding, little extra space
The netbook pouch is perfect and well padded; the utility pouch less so.
Although one could squeeze the power-supply and DC cable into the pouch, the AC cable cannot fit.
Actually had to buy a new bag at a local PC shop.

Nice little sleeve
This sleeve is perfect for my Acer netbook, even with the extended battery which adds an extra anch to the width of my netbook. It has a nice little compartment for my thumb drive but not much else can fit in there without looking like a HUGE bulge on the side of the sleeve. Then again with my extended battery, I really don't need to carry the charger around with me so it works out. My netbook and a thumb drive is all I need. Fits like a glove.

An OK netbook sleeve
I did not expect too much from this sleeve, just simple protection. I bought an Acer netbook, and when using this sleeve, with the battery mounted (which is the nly way I would want to use it) the fit is a bit tight. The zipper just makes it over the corners of the netbook. Why skimp? A fraction of an inch more space and it would be fine. And, the side pocket, intended for the charger and wire and a thumb drive, is also a bit too tight. All in all, usable but annoying. It is relatively inexpensive, so I would not bother returning it. Besides which, I had to tear off the cardboard cover it comes with just to see how it works, so I could not return it in "original" condition anyway!
