Great phone
I really like this phone.
It is well made. The clarity is great.
The features are numerous, and intuitive and easy to use.
If you have caller ID, this phone is really useful, but without it, it's still a great phone.
The talking caller ID is not that great, but it is still useful.
The volume is, for the most part, adequate for me, and I am hard of hearing.
I have had several Panasonic phones over the years, corded and cordless.
Other brands I have owned, or that my friends own, do not come close to the quality of Panasonic.

The price and service from Amazon and Good AS New were excellent.
This phone was recertified. You couldn't tell if the box did not say so. Not a scratch.
The warranty is shorter, but by the time it is over, you should know if it is a dud.
Recertified products get more care than products off the assembly line, so are likely to be fine.
Or recertified could just be a store return or open box item that was inspected and re-packaged.

Washed, Dried and Still Survived
I was very skeptical about buying these phones as I'd always been a VTECH customer. I decided I loved the look of the phone and the talking voicemail which enabled me to not have to get up every time the phone rang to see who it was. The well lit background and large icons make it easy to use even in the dark. My 6 year old daughter loves how easy it is to read the icons so she can intercom from handset to handset, to find where I am in the house. The batter life has been great which was the reason I was looking for phones in the first place. I tend to leave my handsets off for days a time and have yet to find one that's been dead. Last night in a hurry to get out the door to dinner I threw my sheets in the wash not knowing one of my handsets was wrapped in the sheet, and then proceeded to dry them along with the handset again not knowing it was there. It wasn't until I took the sheets out of the dryer found my handset dead, nothing would light up. I decided to place it in the craddle just to see what would happen and to my surprise it light up, read "charge for 7h". Before going to bed I used my additional handset to intercom the one that had been washed and dried...IT RANG, I picked it up and pressed talk..I GOT A DIAL TONE! This phone is definately a keeper if it can withstand being submerged in the washer, spin cycle and then the heat of the dryer along with all the banging. Will definitely buy again!

Not a bad replacement for my aging system
Overall, I am very pleased with this phone system. I've only been using it a few weeks, but I like it better than the Panasonic system that it replaced.

The Choicemail feature is probably the coolest for me. It's nice to not have to listen to all of your messages at once. If you're like me, sometimes you'll want to listen to a message and save it for later because it contains details such as a phone number, etc, or maybe you're just not equipped to deal with it at the time. It's not uncommon for my family to have 3-6 or more saved message on the machine and, if the message you want to review is last, you have a lot of skipping to do. I also like the fact that, if I enter a phone book record on one phone, it shows up on all of them. The sound quality is really good and the range appears to be spectacular. Battery life is also remarkable as I've left one of these phones off the base for about five days, using it intermittently, and it kept a charge.

There are a few things that I would have liked to have seen Panasonic do differently. First of all, it doesn't appear that the caller ID shows up on all phones when it occurs during a call (call waiting). This was very helpful to me with my last system as my wife could be on a call and I could see when another call came in. I would also like to be able to review past incoming calls while another handset is in use, but this doesn't appear to be possible.

I would recommend this product to someone. In fact, I did recommend it to my brother just a few days ago.

Excellent cordless phone system
Product works as advertised. Works well with Verizon Voice Mail system. The Message Waiting indicator detects the Verizon VM signal to let you know there is a message waiting.
I highly recommend this multiple handset phone system. Display is large and easily readable. Love the feature that tells you (audibly) who's calling. Once you have edited frequent callers into the phone book, the entry name is then announced when they call again. Love the intercom feature to call specific handsets directly.

Nice Camera
This camera does everything I wanted it to do for the size, specs and price. If you are looking for more than a point & shoot, you would be pushing the envelope, so look for a higher spect camera and be prepaired to spend more money. I was looking for a small go everywhere camera to get those just in case pictures. I used to cary a Minox all the time but this is quite the upgrade. Thank you for those that were part of this type of camera design.

Returned because I preferred the S630
I returned this item on Jan. 18th. along with the 4 Gig card. I have yet to receive credit for the camera. They were both sent in the original Amazon boxes and taped together. Could someone let me know the status of my return ??

I absoulutely love this camera! I wanted something that was easy to use with nice zoom capability, and this really fit my needs. I have it in red, and it is very stylish in appearance. I own one of the older Coolpix models, so I knew it would be a reliable camera. It is also compatible with my personal Canon Selphy photo printer.

Averted disaster!
My wife cleaned our brand new LCD TV with lysol wipes! Not her fault since I never told her not to do that... but it left a nasty smudge on the TV and we were pretty concerned it was forever ruined... but this stuff took the smudge off & cleaned the TV very nicely. I'm happy!

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens
This seems like an excellent lens. Easy to focus and great pictures. Have not used outside yet, but great for indoors shots.

Image stabilization is great, fragile construction
This is a wonderful lens that produces stunning photos without having to use a tripod.

I just wanted to share this tip - be careful not to move the focus ring while it is in autofocus mode, it could break. One day I discovered that the lens would not focus anymore. It was binding half way through the rotation.

So I took the lens apart. The little gear cog from the motor had a broken tooth.

What I learned: the motor can drive the gears forward, but don't override the focus ring with your hand as it can't take the stress of being driven in reverse.

But at the low price, and excellent image stabilization, it's still a great buy.

Awesome Camera for Me
After months of research and wondering if I should make the move from a nice Canon PowerShot to a DSLR, I took the plunge and am absolutely delighted that I did so.

I purchased a Canon T1i in August, in hopes of learning to use it by mid-November in time for a trip to Istanbul. I found the Amazon and the dpreview.com reviews extremely valuable. Amazon reviews because these are real people with their personal experiences, and dpreview because of what seemed to me excellent technical information and comparisons. Since these reviews have covered a lot of technical material I will talk mostly about the softer side describing my decisions and experience.

My work takes me to interesting places in the world with potential for great people, culture, and architecture photography. The first big question for me was whether or not a DSLR would make a substantial quality difference over the Power Shot I've enjoyed using for several years. The answer, after 9 days shooting in Istanbul, is that this upgrade was absolutely worth it.

The relative smallish and light physical characteristics of the T1i are perfect for a guy who travels with carry-on only luggage for weeks at a time (example me). I chose the Canon EFS 17-85 over the kit lens, intending it to be my day-to-day walk around lens. In reading reviews I saw a recurring theme that a Canon 50mm 1.8, for around 0 was a must buy. So I purchased the 50mm.

I took around 500 images over the nine days in Istanbul. I took many excellent images at night and in a conference room of a hotel. Here was the big surprise on the Istanbul trip - I used the 50mm almost exclusively and I never used a flash. This was not intentional or predetermined. In side the hotel the 1.8 lens made since because of limited light. At night walking the streets of Istanbul I made that same choice for the same reason. In the morning when I was not working I'd strike out early...not much light, usually overcast... so for better or worse, this camera, and the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens, did an outstanding job for me. While I can't apply technical quantification to the images I took, let me just say many of the images from the T1i were tack sharp and simply beautiful. Some were duds but that speaks more about the photographer, in this case anyway, than the T1i.

Again after considerable reading and some experience I've chosen the following accessories so far. I have two 16 Gig Transcendent SDHC cards that have served me well. I purchased the Opteka Professional Battery Grip but found the extra weight and size, for my purposes, to be excessive. The two batteries that came with it make great back ups for me. I put lens shades on all lens and use them all the time. I purchased the book "CANON EOS REBGEL T1i/500D" by David Busch. This book was an excellent investment and I highly recommend it to help get the most from this camera.

Perhaps of interest to some readers, if not to the very fine company of Canon, Inc., are certain measures I have taken to increase security. I purchased this very fine camera in the hope of taking excellent images, not to impress people by carrying around a flashy camera or to promote this outstanding company. I neatly put black electric tape over the name Canon on the front, top of the camera. I removed the bright Canon neck strap, replacing it with a generic black Targus strap, and removed the lens caps with the Canon name in bold print, replacing them with generic black lens caps. My "camera bag" is a generic canvas messenger bag with custom foam inserts (cost and 35 minutes to cut the foam). While not iron clad, many potential thieves will presumably pass me by while looking for the Nikon or Canon logos on cameras carried by "rich westerners."

An OK lens, not a great lens
The AF is slow compared to Canon USM lens, is slow even compared with Pentax screw-driven lens.
The image quality is improved significantly over previous non-IS versions. The image quality is good for its price. But don't expect too much, it is nowhere near other higher grade lens from Canon. Even Canon 50/1.8 and 50/2.5 Macro lens beat the 18-55/IS easily.

Double battery life for Pavilion DV4
This battery has increased my Pavilion dv4's run time from 3 to 6 hours- using similar usage patterns as best as I could. It weighs 1.5 pounds so adds not quite double the weight of the original battery. It does stick out the back a bit but is not objectionable. It can be charged when out of the computer by plugging in the 125V power supply to a socket on the battery. It doesn't come with it's own charger. The power meter is a small white LED window with 4 lights that light when pushed to show 1-2-3 or four lights to signify state of charge.
I'm happy with the extra run time but wish the price (3) was a bit more reasonable.

Important Addition
I am a college student and use my laptop for all of my notes in class. Most of the time, there are no outlets to charge the laptop while I'm sitting there typing so I must rely on the battery lasting me throughout the day. I have a very high demand, high energy laptop and the battery lasts me through four classes without recharging, which is approximately from 930am to 315pm (6 hours) and there's a little extra battery at the end of classes. Not to mention, I can use my original battery while I'm charging the extended battery through the port built into the side. It was a great buy and a must have as a computer accessory.

Finally, I can get through my presentations without an extension cord. This battery is truly amazing, it slips right onto the existing battery slot of my HP laptop and lasts 8hrs. I would recommend this to anyone.

12cell hp or compaq laptop battery
this battery runs a good 5-7hr on my new compaq the old 6 cell ran 1.5 to 2.5 hr and kill me but this is a much bigger battery too stick out at the bottom of lab top and gives you a slite tilt but is nice when your typing and has a net battery light check button plus you can charge it out side you pc alone with a chager no pc need it nice
