I'm glad I did so much research and tested out 3 different bags. Never knew there was such a vast assortment of options.
I now have exactly what I was looking for.
This might be little large for non-gadget people looking for an iPad only bag. It can fit up to a 14.4" laptop. It falls right between a full sized backpack bag and mini-messenger size. The iPad slot holds it firmly due to the design of a second wall within the slot, but there is still lots of room. I can almost squeeze my Latitude E6400 in it, another 2 inches and it would go. I can easily fit my HP Elitebook Tablet PC and my iPad, though with both it's a tad much.
Quality is high all the way around, zippers are all recessed where necessary so as not to scratch anything. Lifetime replacement warranty woohoo!
Pockets are plentiful and all designed so that they are actually useful, none seem to be added just to increase the pocket count for advertising if you know what I mean.
Much more room than what I need for all my "must have" items. With the basic charger, sync, mini screwdriver, 2 DVD's, wallet, ibu, chap stick, iPad, and keys I've used up about 40% of the storage room which seems like a waste however I can carry everything with absolutely no bulk or need to shift items around when I'm searching for something. Outside mesh drink holder fits a soda or small water bottle perfectly and is a super nice thing to finally have.
I required a handle this time, and I'm very happy with this one, thick enough to feel solid and secure in my hand and it's padded so as not to leave lines on my hand under a heavy load. The shoulder strap is functional and hangs just right when adjusted.
I feel confident that if I had to run out to a remote site I could load up the things which I might need to repair a downed server if I had to so no need for me to keep a large bag under my desk anymore. Though it will feel pretty full if I do, but that's ok as it's rare that I do this and a great trade off to having to keep an extra bag waiting in the wings so to speak.
My daughter saw it on me and her first comment was "that's defiantly not a purse" which was the last test for this bag.

A little large for a netbook
I bought this bag to carry my netbook and a few accessories. It is well padded and I was actually able to carry my netbook, headphones, car charger, wall charger, a 24-dvd case and a book all without making it even look full. So, for travel it worked great. I would, however, hesitate to buy this if you were looking for something sleek to just carry your netbook in. I'm sure there's better alternatives out there...
Not just for Netbooks, Perfect for iPad
One thing I hate to do is purchase something like a bag before I get a good look at it. I like to see the size and build quality to see if the bag is worth getting. I was going on a trip, wanted to take my iPad, so I bought this bag sight unseen. This bag is spectacular.
- Build quality is second to none. This feels like a very high quality bag, padding is perfect for an iPad, or any netbook.
- There is plenty of space in this bag for everything. Plenty of space for your cameras, cell phones, iPods or MP3 players, and since I took it on a trip, space for my gps, charger, and mount. It also has a space for a drink bottle if you need it. This bag is so versatile, its really amazing.
- The size is perfect. The size is really perfect for airplane travel (just the right size to easily get the device that you are towing from under the cramped airplane space), or just traveling around town.
- The price is right. For the price they are selling this bag, I would not hesitate to recommend it. With all the pros mentioned above its really perfect.
All in all, I have to say, if you are in the need for a bag for a netbook, ereader, iPad, any kind of device like that, this is the bag to get. Perfect for everyday use, and for travel. Really an amazing bag, well worth the purchase.
Audio Mic & Cable bag
Should of gotten a little wider bag to carry my Microphone and cable. Its deffinately usable, but trying to support video camera on shoulder and grab cable is a little clumsy. Pockets and divider makes everything work well for tapes, extra batteries and small laptops.
Nice bag but...
The zipper broke is less than 2 weeks, good size, many pockets, nice look, without good zipper, the bag still trash.
